Oosterend-Easterein. Harvest Market.

I went with my daughter Brigette to Oosterein-Easterein on the 20th October 2007.

We were invited by the propriotresses Marjan of 'Tea cafe' Oosterein-Easterein and Afke of A&M Lifestyle to their 'Harvest Market' (Oogsmarkt-Dutch) that they were holding.

There were stands with Home made Jams, chutneys, internationalgoods, flower stand and Honey. Also textile home made sewn articles, scarfs, hand made embroided goods, handmade lampshades etc.

Awoman came with a weaving loom and spinning wheel, it was veryinteresting to watch her giving a demonstration with her loom. I amglad I do not have to thread the loom, I thought my overlocker withfour threads was enough, this would only confuse me I think.

This is the first time I have ever been to a Harvest Market and it was a lovely experience.

It turned out to be a lovely day very busy and what was amazing wasthat people had heard of the market, it was advertised on 'Om RoepFryslan' and in the 'Libelle' magazine.

The other stall holders were very friendly. I bought some walnutchutney that Marjan had made, some Honey from the honey stall, which Imight add were very tasty and from Afkes shop my toast rack with apicture of a duck on both ends which I have now named 'Jemimmapuddleduck' after Beatrix's Potters duck.

I got a present from my son and his girlfriend Anita an oldfashioned wooden sewing box that they bought at Afkes A&M lifestyleas it was my birthday.

What a nice day to spend your birthday at a Harvest Market, I must say it was the best I had in ages.

I must give compliments to Afke, Martin, Marjan and Jan Jelmer they were outstanding.

Afke from A&M Lifestyle for all her hard work, coffee and tea.

Martin came around and brought us regular cups of thee and coffee and putting up the tents for us with Jan-Jellma.

Marjan from 'Thee cafe' gave us delicious hot soup and rolls, which kept the cold out.

Jan Jelmer. for picking us up and taking us back to Wommels from the bus-stop.

The general concensor's was that it had been a successfull day by all and we hope to have it again next year.

*More photographs to come*.

Till then Easterein-Oosterein.
