As the title says, we went to Saint Annaparochie, this little village has a lot of history.

St. Annaparochie, or Sintanne, seat of the municipality of Het Bildt,Fryslxe2n province. The coat of arms of the villages Saint Jacobiparochie, Vrouwenparochie,Oude Bildtzijl were designed together with the arms of SaintAnnaparochie.
In 1949 based on a nursery rhyme which was and is stillwell known today, "In pot en panne is het wapen fan sint An", ( a pot and a pan is the arm of Saint An), because the rhyme was of noincredible source they could not be taken serious.
The arms were never granted officially, the rhyme did not say anythingabout the placement of the element, until after the Hamlet of Westhoek(where Marja and I have already visited before the summer holidays),was granted the status of a village the inhabitants asked the Fryske Foar Heraldyk for a coat of arms and a flag in 1999, the FRFH (Fryske Foar Heraldyk), if the other coat of arms were in use, it was stated that the rhyme was well known-the paper's was derived from it, so it was decided to retain the coat of arms.

St Anna and Rembrandt.

We came across a church in Saint Annaparochie and found a statue of aman holding a easle and a woman sitting down being painted by the youngartist, who was believe it or not "Rembrandt", well history once again tells us that Rembrandt married the said lady (the woman sitting down), in the church of Saint Annaparochie, and stayed in a inn that was opposite the church where he married, for his wedding night (which was knocked down ) and they left the following day, and a second hand furniture store called "Estafette", stands on the very site today.I found Saint Annaparochie a nice little village, it reminded me a lot of Berlikum.
We walked around and came across a house that had a huge wagon full of pumpkins outside and you could buy them and leave the money in ajar, (how trusting and how lovely to do shopping this way), I loved it,so everyone if you need pumpkins for Halloween on the 31st October youknow where to look (that is if you celebrate it), or eat it.
