vrouwenparochie to Annaparochie: 12 September 2005

Let me welcome you all. After a long summer holiday, we have picked up our feet and started to walk again, or should I say limp.

Marja and I started to walk from Vrouwenparochie to Saint Annaparochie.

Well  how unfit I have gotten to say the least, must get mywalking shoes back on and get the grit between my teeth and get outthere, after a long break, I hope I can still get you all to enjoyreading our excursions again, here goes.

The weather was a lovely blustery day, but not raining thankgoodness, on our way we came across a farm with two donkeys standing ina field, but how unsual they were not brown or grey donkeys as onewould expect, but grey and white with a brown cross across the withersof the donkey (the shoulders).

Why does a donkey have a cross on its back? it is because the donkey carried our Lord Jesus Christ.

The donkeys were so friendly they even let me stroke them, the ladythat owned them came out to talk to us and we learned that the donkeyswere sisters and that they were three years old and quite a few peoplehave photographed them, she was so friendly and outgoing, how lovely tocome across a person like that, we then thanked her and went on ourmerry way.

A little way down the road, we came across a herb and after marja could get her camera working, she took a photo of the donkeys and the herb. We then proceeded to Saint Annaporochie but halfway there we found a bench and sat down as I could not walk anymore and it was time to go home.
